The Fireball That Could Save Firefighters’ Lives

Firefighters risk their lives every time they run into burning building to save people lives in danger. They don’t stop to think what chemicals are in the smoke. Now the company of Intel invented a new tool for them. Intel invented a little ball called Fireball. The fireball has sensors that detected what  is in the smoke. For example the Fireball would detect if there is carbon monoxide, ammonia, and chemicals in the smoky air and will also the heat temperature. After it detects all of that then it sends it back Via Wi-Fi to a server that the firefighters have in the fire truck. After that it sends it to a site commander's smart phone, then they say if the building is save to go into or not. Firefighters would not use this in a occupied building but would use it in a industrial fire where there is a lot of chemicals that would be exposed. For example they could use it when they go put out a fire in a science lab. The fire department yet has not used these little tools but they are going to start testing them in little fires. For example they could test them in house fires. They are going to test them to see how the little Fireballs hold up in the fires and maybe the fireballs could become the new toolkit for the fire department. In my opinion I think that it’s a good idea. I think because after the 911 incident most firefighters that went to help out went in to the broken building to look for survivors and the smoke damaged their pulmonary system. The air didn’t affect them right away but later on they were being diagnostic with lung cancer. So I think that they should get those fireballs in the tool kit so this incident doesn’t affect that much.
